Rue Joseph Probst
Joseph Probst was born on Nov. 18, 1911 in Vianden (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) and died on July 8, 1997. Following a classical education, he studied art in Brussels and Vienna from 1932 t o1938. His receipt of the Marzotto prize (Italy) in 1960 confirmed his reputation as a recognized painter. Alongside a large number of solo exhibitions, Probst also participated in numerous groups shows in his homeland, as well as in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, the United States and Brazil. His work is represented in the Museum of History and Art in Luxembourg, the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the headquarters of the Universal Postal Union in Bern, the collection of the European Parliament and the collection of the Belgian state, as well as numerous private collections.
