Rue Otto Borrigs
On June 23, 1744, Johann Otto Borrigs, born 1744 in Coblenz, took up his office as pastor of the parish of Linster on the suggestion of Baron Jean-Philippe of MMetzenhausen, Lord of Linster. From 1772-1774, he had a new parish church constructed by the architect Mungenast. Otto Borrigs was known as a man of considerable physical and moral strength and was well ahead of his time. He wrote the first parish register for the parish and not only provided his personal wealth for the building of the church, but also introduced significant improvements in agricultural engineering to his parishioners. Pastor Otto Borrigs died in 1783 and was buried by the wall of his church.
