Historische Stätte "Biergerkräiz"

The “Biergerkräiz” is one of the four crosses which once borders the fortress of Louxemburg from all four sides. The boundary between the city right and court jurisdiction ran along the “Biergerkräizer”. Between the “Biergerkräizer” there are still some numbered border markers which go back to the land registries of the age of Maria Theresa. They typically bear the year 1772. ( Norbert Weins) Despite many theories to the contrary, this cross has nothing to do with Bourglinster Castle or the parish of Bourglinster. You can find the legend of the “Biergerkräiz” here under the QR code LEGENDS.
