Rue Astrid Lindgren
Astrid Anna Emilia Lindgren, born Ericsson (November 14, 1907 at the Näs farm near Vimmerby; † 28. January 2002 in Stockholm), was a Swedish author. With a total circulation of 165 million books (as of February 2019), she is one of the best-known authors of books for children and young people in the world. She 6 works have been published around the globe in 106 different languages, making her one of the most translated authors ever. The author is the intellectual mother of Pipi Longstocking, Emil of Lönneberga, Ronja the Robber's Daughter, Mio, Kalle Blomkvist, Karlsson on the Roof, the Children of Noisy Village and many other characters.
