Bourglinster

Baron Pierre Georges d’Arnould et de Soleuvre, the last aristocratic owner of Bourglinster Castle, was born in 1768. The Baron was given the hereditary title of “Baron” for himself and his descendants by the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, and was also granted a knighthood by Luxembourg. He was also a member of the provincial council for the Province of Luxembourg. From 1814 to 1824, he was mayor of the parish of Junglinster. In 1836, he sold Bourglinster Castle, including 270 ha of land surrounding it, to a private consortium. He remained unmarried and died on December 14, 1841 in Luxembourg.
